Abstract

ABSTRACT

Sirenomelia, also known as the mermaid syndrome, is a rare congenital malformation of uncertain etiology. It is a very rare congenital fetal anomaly characterized by lower limb fusion and severe urogenital, gastrointestinal, cardiovasculer, central nervous system malformations. We present a case of sirenomelia diagnosed in the third  trimester of pregnancy, who had a single umblical artery, renal agenesis and a single lower extremity and who was lost at first minute of life.
