ABSTRACT
Struma ovarii is a rarely seen ovarian tumour that usually diagnosed in postoperative period by pathological examination. Struma ovarii accounts 0.5-1% of all ovarian tumors and 2-5% of ovarian teratomas. Struma ovarii is a mature ovarian teratoma consisting mainly of the thyroid tissue. It is usually a benign condition malignant transformation has been reported to occur in about 5% of all struma ovarii cases. Struma ovarii may be seen in all ages but it is generally seen in 5th and 6th decade of life. We here in report a struma ovary case and discuss diagnosis and treatment procedures under the light of literature.
