Urinary tract infections (UTI) are the most common childhood diseases group after upper respiratory tract diseases. If the urinary tract infection is not diagnosed and treated in time, it may cause renal scarring and chronic kidney failure. It should be kept in mind that the most important cause of chronic renal failure and hypertension in childhood in our country is urinary tract infections that occur on the background of vesicoureteral reflux. A rapid, appropriate and detailed examination is required to minimize acute morbidity and long-term sequelae of childhood UTIs. Especially recurrent and underlying anatomical disorders such as vesicoureteral reflux and obstruction are important in terms of serious complications. Chronic kidney failure due to recurrent UTIs still has an important place in our country. Therefore, renal damage can be prevented or reduced by early diagnosis and treatment of patients.
