THE EFFECT OF "QUANTUM-TOUCH" ON VENİPUNCTURE PAİN, FEAR, AND ANXİETY İN CHİLDREN AGED 7-12 YEARS OLD; RANDOMİZED CONTROLLED STUDY

Aim: It was aimed to evaluate the effect of the Quantum-Touch during the venipuncture pain, fear, and anxiety among children aged 7 -12 years old in the emergency department.
Methods: The randomized, controlled study was conducted with 111 children aged 7-12 years in the pediatric emergency department. Data were collected by the 'Information Form', ‘Faces Pain Scale-Revised’, ‘Children’s Anxiety Meter-State', and ‘Children’s Fear Scale’.
Results: During the venipuncture ‘Faces Pain Scale-Revised’, ‘Children’s Anxiety Meter-State', and ‘Children’s Fear Scale’ of the children in the control group were higher than the children in the Quantum-Touch group (p<0.001).
Conclusion: It was determined that Quantum Touch is effective methods to reducing pain, anxiety, and fear in 7-12 children during venipuncture in the pediatric emergency. Pediatric nurse should learn and perform Quantum Touch to manage children’s pain, anxiety, and fear.
